The HP Envy Pro 6475 is a home use and small business printer that is loaded with everything you need to print everyday documents. Easily print, copy, and scan from PC or smartphone, thanks to self-healing Wi-Fi that promises reliable connection.
Featuring auto document feeder, it allows you to complete copy and scan job faster without user intervention. With Instant Ink, you don’t necessarily need to order ink as it will be automatically ordered and delivered to your house without additional charge.
Two-Tone Layout, Robust Construction
The Envy Pro 6475 is well constructed with a seamless and straightforward design. The two-tone layout evokes a monochromatic and modern touch, making it a perfect piece to complement your modern workspace.
Despite the design similarity to the Envy 6075, it comes with an auto feeder that allows hands-free duplex scanning and copying. Combined with a flatbed scanner, this feeder is quite small so it doesn’t make this model look bulky.
Measuring 6.8 inches high by 17. 02 inches wide by 14.21 inches deep and weighing 13.58 pounds, this printer doesn’t make your bench cramped. When printing, the depth increases to 20.13 inches so you have to make sure the area is clear.
This printer houses smart contextual UI buttons that light up when needed. This panel consists of power buttons and indicators that tell you the status of the printer. Unluckily, it doesn’t feature an LCD display that allows easy operations.
Do I like its design and appearance? Well, I like the monochromatic layout and straight forward design that makes it a great addition in my room. However, it will be much more attractive with an LCD display.
Convenient Print, Copy, and Scan
Easily print, make copies, scan, and send fax with the HP Envy Pro 6475. This printer is designed to help handle everyday tasks, from schoolwork to report to presentation. All-in-one functionality allows you to gain greater productivity.
Much like HP inkjet counterparts, this model uses HP thermal inkjet print technology. With a support of high print resolutions up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi, enjoy high quality output for both text and photos. Use HP photo papers to obtain the best photo results.
The Envy Pro 6475 comes with a capable scanner that uses flatbed and ADF input. Scan documents and opt to choose from supported formats, including JPG, RAW, and PDF. With scan resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, you can scan documents up to 8.5 inches by 11.7 inches.
Making copies of your document is getting easier with the 6475 copier. It allows you to copy black text and color graphics with good output, thanks to 300 x 300 dpi copy resolutions. With the HP Smart app, you can copy document from your smartphone.
As a bonus, this device works well to send fax with unlimited storage. However, it does not have the ability to receive fax.
HP Envy Pro 6475 Print Speed Rating
Most home printers come with moderate print speed and the 6475 holds this tradition. HP rates this model at 10 pages per minute for black and 7 pages per minute for color, which is good enough for everyday printing.
Compared to its rival, the Canon PIXMA G2260, speed rating for monochrome printing is slightly lower, in which the G2260 is rated at 10.8 ppm. Meanwhile, its ability to print color documents is higher than its rival that produces up to 6 pages per minute.
Paper Handling and Media Types
The HP Envy Pro 6475 adopts a rear paper feeding model with an input capacity that comes standard. With a 100-sheet input capacity, it is ideal for home use with low print volume. It is also equipped with a 25-sheet output tray for organized output. And, a 35-sheet ADF adds extra input capacity.
Print on various media types, from plain paper to HP photo paper to glossy paper. It also supports matte paper and recycled paper for different purposes. But if you want an optimized print result, especially for photos, I suggest you to use HP Photo Papers.
Additionally, this model supports a variety of media sizes. However, it is not as many as its rival that supports from 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches to Letter. It starts from 4 inches by 6 inches to Letter and #10 Envelopes.
Overall, there’s nothing exceptional from paper handling and media types. Instead, it supports fewer media sizes than its competitors. But I’m sure this printer is more than enough to handle everyday printing.
HP Envy Pro 6475 Output Quality
Despite the printer is specifically designed for home use, it has a good output quality. Based on some tests, I can confirm the Envy Pro 6475 meets the need of your family and small business—it works well for documents and photos.
On a test with text, this printer performed really well. It delivered text-rich documents with high legibility. I can hardly find misshaped characters or peculiar spacing, making it more than acceptable for everyday documents like homework or report.
When it came to charts and graphics, the output was satisfying. It managed to print thin lines without disturbing strokes. Fill and gradients could be easily handled without major issues that ruin the overall result. Banding and hairline were not noticeable.
I’m pretty sure you will love its photo printing capability. Snapshots were excellently printed with vivid and accurate colors. The pictures are crisp and the details were quite impressive, even though it is not comparable to 5-ink or 6-ink photo printers.
How do I feel about the print performance? Overall, I personally think that the output quality is sufficient for home use. It can be a good choice for your family, home office, or small business.

The HP Envy Pro 6475 is equipped with conventional ink cartridges. It is compatible with dye-based color and pigment-based black ink types, resulting in bright and crisp colors. Be sure to always use HP original ink cartridges for the best result.
The manufacturer provides you with HP 67 ink cartridge replacement. There are three versions to opt for, including standard, XL, and XXL. Each version comes with different volume for different page yields, from 120 pages to 400 pages.

Printing from a smartphone is getting easier with HP Smart App. Not only can you print, but also you can scan, make copies, and share with friends or family. This model is also compatible with Chrome OS, Apple AirPrint, and Mopria.
No software is included in the package. HP printer software is available online, which means you have to visit HP official website and download software that is compatible with your device.
HP Envy Pro 6475 Pros and Cons
Finding a good printer for your family can be a real struggle, especially if you want to give the best without being too much. The Envy Pro 6475 seems a good printer with all the good things, but it also has shortages. I’ve compiled the pros and cons so you can make a better decision.
HP Envy Pro 6475 Pros
- ADF Support
Featuring a 35-sheet ADF, it allows a hands-free duplex copy and scan. If you often handle double-sided documents, this feature makes everything easier. It helps improve productivity and time efficiency.
- Good Output Quality
A reason to choose this printer is good print result. With crisp black, vivid colors, and minor issues, the Envy 6475 is more than acceptable for home use. It can easily print your report, presentation, kids’ homework and school project. And, it also works to print snapshots of beautiful moments.
- Relatively Speedy
For a home printer, I should say that the 6475 is quite fast. Rated at 10 ppm, you can print mono without spending too much time. Despite the speed rating is not comparable to laser printers, it is good enough to handle everyday printing tasks.
HP Envy Pro 6475 Cons
- Conventional Cartridges
As with other printers with conventional ink cartridges, it has a major issue with high running costs. Compared to printer with ink tanks, its print cost is significantly higher. Besides, conventional cartridge increases the waste every time you buy a new cartridge replacement.
- No LCD Display
If you are looking for a printer with LCD display, the 6475 does not meet your requirements. It does not feature LCD screen, which means checking printer status will be a bit trickier. But with contextual smart buttons, the lack of LCD display is more tolerable.
