DeskJet is a well-known product line from HP that focuses on the home environment. A long list of printer products under this line have been rolled out to the market, one of which is the HP DeskJet Plus 4155. This all-in-one printer meets the needs of the family’s everyday printing, thanks to copious features and excellent overall specs.

The DeskJet Plus 4155 promises high-quality results with optimized print resolution. Featuring automatic document feeder, this home printer supports effortless scanning and copying. The support for wireless connection ensures engaging experience whenever using this printer. Wrapped in an elegant design, this printer seems ideal for your home.

DeskJet Plus 4155 Design and Layout

HP definitely knows how to impress their customers through inviting printer design. The collaboration of round edges and entirely white body cover results in an elegant layout with premium look. It makes no surprise that the Plus 4155 looks more expensive than its actual price.

DeskJet Plus 4155 Design

Much like other printers under the DeskJet line, this model comes with tight dimensions. At 16.9 inches by 13. 1 inches by 7.9 inches and weighing 10.63 pounds, the small footprints allow the device to sit nicely on your desk and bench.

When it comes to bodily features, this model is equipped with an automatic document feeder that is integrated with the scanner lid. I don’t think the ADF makes its overall appearance look bulkier, thanks to the placement that is just right.

On the top of the device, I can also find a modest control panel with a few buttons including power button and wireless button. A tiny monochrome LCD display is embedded between buttons, allowing you to check the status of this printer.

Overall, the design and layout of the DeskJet Plus 4155 is pretty attractive except the small display that makes it rather difficult to see. I appreciate how the manufacturer wraps the all-in-one features in a compact and solid design without making it look hefty.

All-in-One Inkjet Printer with Excellent Specs

Designed for home environment, the 4155 brings all-in-one functionalities to ensure your everyday documents are well-handled. The ability to print, copy, scan, and send fax makes this printer a versatile device to help tackle your office projects or kid’s homework.

This model boasts excellent print resolution up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi for crisp and impeccable color details. Monochrome printing is supported by 1200 x 1200 rendered dpi. Additionally, the printer that supports HP thermal inkjet technology is equipped with 328 black print head nozzles and 588 color print head nozzles for amazing output quality.

All-in-One Inkjet Printer with Excellent Specs

The copier manages to handle up to 300 x 300 dpi resolution for mono and color. With maximum copies up to 9 pages, it features auto-enlarge settings. If you scan a lot, I assure the DeskJet Plus 4155 can be your new best friend. The flatbed scanner supports up to 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution with contact image sensor technology.

Featuring front-panel input, the scanner is easier to operate. It delivers various file formats such as PNG, BMP, JPEG, and TIFF. Unfortunately, the printer supports only single-sided scanning.

Intermediate Print Speed

The manufacturer rates this product’s print speed up to 8.5 pages per minute for mono and up to 5.5 pages per minute for color. Generally speaking, this speed rating is not impressive. But when compared to its counterparts such as the DeskJet 3639 or the DeskJet 2655, this model is more prominent. The earlier mentioned prints up to 6 ppm while the second one prints up to 5.5 ppm for mono.

For home use, the DeskJet Plus 4155 has intermediate print speed that is sufficient for everyday printing task. But much like other printers, the speed varies depending on the documents. I noticed a significant increase up to 20 pages per minute for black draft document.

Low Input Tray Capacity

Low Input Tray Capacity

This printer model features a single input tray that extends from the back of the device. The tray holds up to 60 sheets of legal paper or up to 20 sheets of photo paper. It can also handle up to 20 cards or 5 envelopes. The adjustable input tray allows the printer to handle various printing media sizes such as letter, legal, envelope, 4 x 6 inch, and custom size with 20 lb of recommended media weight.

After printing, your documents are delivered to an output tray that holds up to 25 sheets. For easier copying and scanning, an automatic document feeder is ready to serve with the capacity of 35 sheets.

As a family printer, this model does not support a high volume rating. The recommended monthly volume is rated at 300 pages with monthly duty cycle up to 1000 pages. Despite its low volume, it is sufficient for everyday or occasional printing tasks.

Good Result for Everyday Documents

The DeskJet Plus 4155 targets family scope that does not demand a high standard of print quality. Having that said, this printer delivers impressive output quality that exceeds my expectation. The machine manages to print legible text with sharp black color. The result is more than enough for paperwork or kids homework.

On a test with fill and gradient, this printer worked just well. Minor banding and hairlines were slightly noticeable but it did not ruin the overall print result. But I promise this printer is sufficient to handle your handout or presentation slideshows.

The 4155 is not specifically designed for photo printing but I appreciate the output quality. Especially when you use HP photo paper, this printer produces impressive detail with crisp and vivid color. The result is incomparable to consumer-grade photo printers but it works well for everyday color printing or kid’s creative project.

HP DeskJet Plus 4155 Ink Cartridges

HP 67 ink cartridge

For optimized print result, the DeskJet Plus 4155 combines dye-based color and pigment-based black consumables. The four-ink printer features two cartridges consisting of one black cartridge and one tri-color cartridge. It is compatible with HP 67 Black cartridge that prints up to 120 pages and HP 67 Tri-color cartridge that produces up to 100 pages.

For ink replacement, the manufacturer offers HP 67XL Black high yield that delivers up to 240 pages and HP 67XL Tri-color High Yield that prints up to 200 pages. For lower print cost, you can opt for an Extra High Yield cartridge that produces up to 400 pages for black and 330 pages for color.

Good news, the manufacturer offers HP Instant Ink that allows automatic ink order and delivery for lower payment. Additionally, this feature lets you join a plan for free printing up to 15 pages per month.

Wireless Printer with Limited Connectivity

The low-entry printer brings limited connectivity that includes USB and Wi-Fi. It also supports mobile printing capability such as Mopria Print service and Apple AirPrint. Thanks to HP Smart App that lets the device connect to phone, tablet or computer in minutes.
