PIXMA is the most popular printer series manufactured by Canon. Most of the products are characterized by its low price, compact design, and versatile functions. Also, they are typically equipped with inkjet technology to support quality print. Among the long list of this series, the Canon PIXMA TS3320 is a notable printer for a home environment.

This wireless all in one printer is a consumer-grade that targets family and home office. The TS3320 costs no more than a hundred dollars, making it a budget-friendly AIO for every family. But, how about the feature? Can you expect more after paying less? I am here to reveal all you need to know about this home printer. Keep scroll through the review and decide later.

Canon PIXMA TS3320 Body and Design

Let’s begin with the body and design. I can say that the PIXMA TS3320 is quite similar to its predecessor, the TS3120. It comes with a compact design and delivers Canon’s traditional black coloring. Although the whole body is made of plastic material, this device looks strong and robust at a glance. It does not look flimsy though it may slightly rattle when used in a normal mode.

Measuring 5.8 inches high by 12.5 inches deep by 17.2 inches wide, this printer should fit your narrow desktop. It does not take much space as well as effort, especially when moving this lightweight printer. At the top of the device, you can find a scanning bed. There is also an input tray with 60 sheets capacity.

On the left side, there is a control panel with a few buttons and a 1.5” LCD screen. The function buttons include copy and scan, button to initiate the wireless connection, and an additional button to set the LCD. Unfortunately, the monochrome screen does not come with a light so I found it’s rather difficult to read the display in a dim room.

Canon PIXMA TS3320 Specs and Features

Despite its affordable price, the TS3320 has many to offer. Canon has successfully wrapped all-in-one functionality in a single device, allowing you to handle documents with ease. Not to mention it features advanced technology to ensure your convenience. Keep scrolling to find out what it offers to you.

1. Print, copy, and scan functionality

The inkjet printer comes with print, copy, and scan functionalities. It is supported by Canon FINE inkjet technology combined with 1280 nozzle configuration to deliver high-quality printing. Printing resolution at 4800 x 1200 dpi ensures excellent output quality for texts, graphics, and photos.

If you want to scan letters, invoices, or other documents, this Energy Star certified printer offers 600 x 1200 dpi optical resolution. Coming with the CIS scan element, it is highly practical to save any documents in your computer. When it comes to copy functionality, the PIXMA TS3320 is able to handle borderless copy and fit to page with maximum copies up to 20 pages.

2. Media and document handling

This printer is designed to handle your everyday printing, copying, and scanning. It is equipped with a 60-sheet input tray for the plain paper without additional trays. The input tray can also handle up to 20 sheets of 4 x 6 inches paper or 10 sheets of 5 x 7 inches photo paper.

If you use the device for everyday printing tasks or occasional printing, this capacity might not be a big problem. But when you rely on this printer for a business, it might give you additional tasks to reload the paper more frequently.

Apart from the low capacity tray, this printer can handle various media sizes ranging from 4 x 6 inches all the way to legal size. It supports plain paper, glossy paper, magnetic paper, photo paper, and re-stickable paper for creative projects. Unfortunately, it does not support borderless print at 8 x 10 inches.

3. Print speed

No exceptional print performance can be noticed from this printer. It offers various print speeds depending on your documents. The PIXMA TS3320 manages to print up to 7.7 pages per minute, which means it is not among those fast printers. This speed is slower than average printers in its class, though it is not the slowest.

For a 4 x 6 inches glossy paper, this printer can accomplish in 2 minutes and 1 second though Canon claims 65 seconds for this size. As a comparison, the Canon PIXMA MG3620 manages to print in 43 seconds for the same size.

Canon PIXMA TS3320 Print Quality

The PIXMA TS3320 output quality is quite excellent, especially for everyday printing tasks. Apart from its affordable price, it produces good-looking content for any kind of documents. This home printer can deliver highly legible texts and well-shaped graphics, which are more than enough for kid’s homework or your project presentation.

When it comes to photo printing on glossy paper, I could see sharp details, crisp and vivid color with natural saturation. Despite the slow performance, the result is worth the wait. You can enjoy printing family photographs or other photo collections and make your own photo albums.

More importantly, Canon features the Chromalife 100 System for longer print longevity. It helps protect your photos from fading, allowing you to archive the album for up to 100 years. If you want to display the picture behind glass, the picture can last up to 30 years, or 20 years without glass.

Canon PIXMA TS3320 Ink Cartridges

The TS3320 uses standard two cartridges consisting of one black cartridge and one tri-color cartridge (CMY). The compatible ink type is PG-245 or PG-243 Pigment Black Inks and CL-246 or CL-244 Dye Based Inks. The standard PG-245 Black comes with 8.9 ml of volume, while the standard CL-246 has 9.0ml. Canon also provides High Yield cartridges, though the volume is not significantly higher.

Canon PG-245

It is no longer a secret that a low-cost printer comes with expensive inks. This is also the case with the TS3320. The consumer-grade inkjet printer uses low-yield ink cartridges. It means this printing machine has higher costs per page, though it depends on the type of documents that you print.

When using the PG-243 and CL-244 cartridges, you will need to spend up to 16 cents per page for mono and 37 cents per page for graphics. But when you choose to buy the high yield cartridge, it costs you around 18.7 cents per monochrome page. This cost can be irritating, especially for the home environment. But for occasional printing, the PIXMA TS3320 can be friendlier to your purse.

Canon PIXMA TS3320 Connectivity

Connectivity takes a major contribution to ensure your convenience. Canon boasts Hi-Speed USB 2.0 for a reliable connection with your computer. It also features Wi-Fi(n) and Wireless PictBridge to upgrade your printing experience. Wireless printing enables you to print pictures or documents right from your tablet or smartphone.

The wireless printer comes with a lot of features to help you get the best out of it. The PIXMA TS3320 supports AirPrint, Mopria, and Google Cloud Print for mobile connectivity. You can also enjoy the Canon Print App, Easy-PhotoPrint Editor software, Message In Print app, PIXMA Chat Print, and PIXMA Cloud Link.

We have come to my favorite section, pros and cons. While the above review might give you a headache, I am going to give a simplified version. The TS3320 is a great printer for the home environment. It comes with ease-of-use features that support everyday printing tasks. But the device also comes with several drawbacks you cannot ignore.

Canon PIXMA TS3320 Plus

  • Good print quality

This printer offers good print quality that is more than enough for home use. It produces legible texts and crisp graphics, allowing your kids to accomplish their homework or art projects. You can also enjoy well-delineated output for presentations or reports.

  • Low base price

If you are going to use the printer for occasional printing, the TS3320 can be a great choice. This is a low budget printer that is not going to break your savings. Despite the high print costs, it won’t affect too much if you don’t print quite often.

  • Lightweight and compact

The TS3320 comes with a compact design that won’t take much of your desktop space. It fits nicely on your workstation or study table. Even if you have to move the printer here and there, you don’t need to put in too much effort, thanks to its lightweight build.

  • Smart assistant

A smart assistant makes you feel like living in the future. This printer features Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing you to enjoy voice-activated scanning and printing. In addition to a smart assistant, the PIXMA TS3320 also supports other voice services such as Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana, though you have to access them online.

Canon PIXMA TS3320 Cons

  • High cost per page

If you plan to print a lot of documents, the TS3320 might not be a good choice. The low-cost printer uses expensive, low-yield ink cartridges which mean higher cost per page. This printer is suitable for occasional printing so the inks don’t run quickly.

  • Low tray capacity

This wireless printer is designed for the home environment so it comes with low tray capacity. The 60-sheet input tray is suitable for student’s homework or college paper. If you expect a professional printer to support your business, the PIXMA TS3320 is surely not for you. Not to mention it lacks an auto document feeder so you have to work with double-sided printing manually.

  • Slow print speed

The TS3320 is not the slowest printer, but I cannot deny that its print speed is slugging. It manages to print up to 7.7 pages per minute, which is slower than the average printer. The speed drops when you print color documents or photos. But if you are not in a hurry, this printer is worth the wait.

Bottom Line

The Canon PIXMA TS3320 is a family printer that works great for everyday or occasional printing, copying, or scanning tasks. This printing machine is good for beginners, thanks to good print quality. It comes with a low base price so you don’t need to put too much effort on it. But if you are looking for a printer with a higher monthly volume and lower print cost, you should consider other printers like Epson EcoTank ET-4760.
